Everything has gone to plan. We will shortly be boarding the aircraft at Gate D1. ETA Manchester is 9.30am but that may change.
Arrangements for the return flight………
We check out of the hotel at 11am. We have a wait for our coach to take us to the airport at 2.30pm so we have decided to return to the cinema to take in another movie and get a snack lunch.
Our flight SQ051 from Houston (IAH) is due to depart at 6.40pm and is due to land at Manchester (MAN) at about 8.30am. We will attempt to update this blog from Houston if the flights are on time. We would appreciate the students being collected from T2 – perhaps they could call you when we are through with baggage.
We’ve had a fabulous, once in a lifetime experience, at NASA. Thanks for being a wonderful group of students.

Day 5…..afternoon and evening
After a final couple of hours going round the exhibits and visiting the NASA shop we departed for Kemah Boardwalk and the amusement park right next to the water. Wethen went on to our final meal at Bubba Gumps.

Following a brunch we had a talk and Q+A session with Astronaut Mike Foreman.

Having done some research on Mars design a habitat suitable for a group of Astronauts for 500days. Build a model of the habitat and present it to a panel of NASA staff justifying your design features.
Day 4………the competition continues
Part 2 – Collecting rock samples using a radio controlled rover built by the students.
