The Year 11 GCSE food and nutrition students have worked really hard over the last three weeks to complete the practical element of their NEA 2. They have made some delicious dishes so well done and thank you for all their hard work. Thanks must also go to those at home behind the scenes who have helped with all the preparation as well as putting up with their kitchen being taken over! Thank you.
Well done to all those students studying food technology this term. The year 10 students have made a great start to their new course and the year 11 students have continued to work as hard as ever. Well done everyone and thanks for all the parental support. We’ve had some fantastic Christmas bakes this year.
On Tuesday 6th June, Olivier Trolallen from La Boheme returned to AGGS with his pastry chef, Jennie. This time it was the turn of the students to impress the two chefs with their skills. Each student had been asked to make a sweet or savoury tart with pastry. The end products were amazing. They were marked out of 30 for their appearance, flavour and quality of the pastry.
The four lucky winners, Natasha, isabelle, Georgia and Imela all won vouchers to spend at La Boheme in the restaurant, The two overall winners, Isabelle and Natasha, have been invited to spend a day in the kitchen with Jennie learning some tricks of the trade and making desserts to serve in the restaurant. What an amazing opportunity. As always, big thanks goes to Olivier and Jennie for giving up their precious time and to all the students who took part and made such fantastic efforts to create some wonderful dishes.
