The annual Art exhibition took place in the week commencing 17th June. The main school hall was taken over with a fantastic display celebrating the hard work and talent of our A level and GCSE students. The variety of the work produced was fantastic, with the students exploring a wide range of media and techniques with skill and innovation. Themes included portraiture, textile landscapes, seascapes, still life oil paintings, water, family connections, music festivals and natural forms. The screens were interspersed with large card board paintings and fabric pieces created by the current year 12 art students and inspired by the statues seen in the Vatican on the art departments recent art trip to Rome.
We are delighted to let you know that two of our outstanding young Year 11 GCSE artists have successfully had their artwork accepted for the Royal Academy Summer Show. It is an online exhibition which showcases the work of students from across the country and is such a fantastic recognition of their talent.
Huge congratulations go to Lauren A and Jenny Z!
