We are currently on our way home from a brilliant weekend at the GCSE Dance Residential in Wales. Well done dancers for all of your hard work, take a well deserved rest during half term!
Well done dancers for creating and performing your brilliant pieces!
The dancers worked with Stop Gap Dance Company this weekend. They were taught repertoire and choreographed some fantastic pieces looking at the professional work ‘Artificial Things’. Amazing work dancers!
The dancers were put through their paces learning 2 challenging set phrases today, fantastic work, well done!
Our Year 10 dancers learning all about ‘Component 2’ aka the theory exam!
We are in Wales for our GCSE Dance residential weekend! Our Year 10 dancers worked very hard to create some fantastic pieces in today’s choreography workshop. Well done!
Year 10 dancers have just returned from a brilliant dance trip to the Conway Centre, Angelsey. The weekend, run by Homegrown Dance Theatre, included dance workshops on all aspects of GCSE Dance. Students from schools across the country learnt repertoire from professional dances on the GCSE anthology, choreographed dances and learnt 2 of the set phrases. A great weekend was had by all and we are all very tired now! See more photos here:
This morning, dancers have learnt the set phrase ‘shift’ and created performance pieces using the poem ‘I am meth’ as a stimulus.
We are so impressed with how hard all of them have worked this weekend; they have put 100% into every workshop. We now have lots of ideas and rep ready to use in GCSE dance lessons back at school.
11 tired dancers all heading home…thanks for a great weekend everyone xx
