Year 8 wowed the judges on Tuesday 16 July at the annual Eurovision Song Competition. The vent has been running for 15 years now, but staff agreed that this was one of the best. Year 8 had clearly rehearsed thoroughly, performing songs in French, German and Spanish from memory and also carefully choreographing routines to ensure that everyone was involved. 8-4, representing France, were the winners, followed by 8-3 (Austria) and 8-5 (Germany). There were guest acts from Year 12 French and Spanish students and the MFL department also treated the Year 8 pupils to their interpretation of Nena’s 99 Luftballons. It was a terrific way to end a busy term and all the forms should be very proud of their performances.
