Students, Money and Mental Health
Please find below a link to an information pack to help NASMA members run this theme in their institutions. The pack is also designed for supporters of NSMW16 to understand all about NASMA’s NSMW campaign and how they can be involved in helping promote NASMA’s key messages about financial capability.
The following information leaflets have also been created for NASMA members and supporters to use to help promote any activity they undertake during NSMW16.

The documents have been designed to help members with their NSMW activity and members and supporters are welcome to take any elements of these resources that will be of help to them.
NASMA members are still actively encouraged to the share of ideas and events via the mailbase to help inspire all members about what they can do to take part in NSMW16. While we understand that the engagement of institutions varies, NASMA still supports the value of any contribution you can make to NSMW16 and promoting financial capability to your students.
In line with NSMW16’s theme, NASMA launched a survey to find out about students and their relationship with money and mental health and how the two are often closely linked. It also asked students to provide their top tips on managing money and their mental health.

NSMW17 and beyond
Since NSMW began in 2011 it has officially taken place in February each year. The NSMW15 survey also informed us that 81% of respondents took part in NSMW during the official week.
Following feedback from members, and a proposal from a committee member, the Committee and Board have agreed that for the foreseeable future NSMW will take place in the 2nd week of February every year.
For NSMW17 this means the dates will be Monday 6th February – Friday 10th February 2017.
We also acknowledge the importance of institutions still being able to take part during times that best suit them. While the setting of ongoing dates will help give a clear focus for activity and embed NSMW further into the academic year, activity by members at times suitable to them is still encouraged and supported.
