The year 9 squad had qualified for this competition as runners-up to Cheadle Hulme School in the Greater Manchester County round.

The competition was organised in two sections of 3 teams.

Our first match was against Hill House School, South Yorkshire which we won 4-2

Our second match was against The Grange School from Cheshire. After leading 2-0 we let this lead slip and the result ended up as a 2-2 draw.

The result of who came first and second went down to goal difference as The Grange and ‘Alti’ Girls had the same number of points. The Grange goal difference was +3 and ours was +2 so we went through to the semi final as runners-up.

The semi was played against old rivals Kirkham Grammar School. After full time the score was 0-0 so the result was decided on a penalty flick competition. Unfortunately we lost this and so do not qualify for the North Final at the end of the month. The girls were heart broken but they played some very good hockey and were a credit to themselves and the school. Well done girls. You can look forward to getting your own back next time!
