The U14 hockey squad took part in the county round of the National Schools’ competition on Tuesday. 9 teams had entered so the tournament was organised in two sections. In our section we beat Stockport Grammar School 1-0 : St Bede’s College 4-0 and Withington Girls School 4-0 so we won our section. We then played the runner up of the other section, Sale Grammar School and won 2-0. Winning this match meant that we had already qualified for the North West semi final but we still had to play the final. This was against a strong Cheadle Hulme team. We lost the match 1-0 but the girls were thrilled with their result as we lost to the same team quite badly at the end of last season. We also had chances to score but didn’t take them. Anyway we are through to the next round at Timperley Hockey Club after half term so the girls are very pleased with themselves.
