MORE BADMINTON SUCCESS

The U14 girls team teamed up with the  U14 Altrincham Boys team to play in the Stockport and District Junior League tournament at Bramhall High School on Sunday.

It was the first time we have entered this tournament so did not know what to expect.

Two boys were paired up with two girls to play a team match which included 1 x boys singles : 1 x girls singles : 1 x girls doubles : 1 x boys doubles and 1 x mixed doubles. 

The ‘B’ team beat College ‘A’ team 5-0 but narrowly lost to Poynton ‘A’ team 3-2. This was a very close match as the team lost two games 20-22 and 23-21. This placed the team runner-up and a place in the semi-finals.

The ‘A’ team won their three group matches 5-0. As top of heir section they were also in the semi finals which was against the ‘B’ team!!!!

The ‘A’ team won 5-0 but there were a couple of close games.

In the final the ‘A’ team played Poynton ‘A’ and won 4-1.

The four players won a trophy and Georgia Bailey won he player of the tournament award.
