Hockey Results

The year 8 ‘A’/’B’ team beat Withington Girls’ in an after school match    1-0. These after school matches are great as it gives some of the girls who do not play on a Saturday morning a chance to play competitive hockey. There was some excellent hockey played girls, well done.

We then had our regular Saturday fixture against local rivals Stockport Grammar School with mixed results.

1stX1 lost 6-0. They held their own in the first half but then let Stockport run away with it in the second half. They were playing against some of he girls who had won the National Finals last year so the match was very competitive.

U16X1 drew 1-1 which was a fair result against a strong team.

U15X1 were drawing 3-3 until he last 3 minutes in a very exciting game but in the last few sminutes we let their strong striker dictate the game and she scored 2 goals to make the final score 5-3.

U14X1 had a very good game in preparation for the National Schools’ semi-final on Monday and won 6-0.

U13X1 also had a very good game beating Stockport 4-0.

The year 7 matches finished the morning off in style. The ‘A’ team won  2-1 and the ‘B’ team won 2-0.

Well done to everyone who played.

Now that it is getting dark early please make sure that you know how you are getting home. It will be dark by the end of each of the 2 sessions. If you are being picked up we suggest you wait by the leisure centre entrance until your lift arrives, for your safety. We also like to suggest that you do not walk down dark streets on your own. Try to walk with a friend.
