What an amazing morning’s hockey we had on Saturday.
We stared the morning with a large number of girls unavailable due to DofE walks, injuries and illness. The teams were all mixed up with younger players having to fill the shoes of older players in their absence. As we started at 9am we didn’t know what to expect against Withington Girls’ School and Arnold/Queen Mary School, Lytham.
It turned out that the girls came up trumps and we had some excellent results.
Against Withingon Girls’ School
1st X1 won 2-1 : U15X1 won 4-0 : U13x1 won 7-0 : the year 7 teams, in their first matches for AGGS won 3-1 and 2-0.
Well done for such excellent results.
Arnold/Queen Mary School then arrived.
The U16 team lost 2-1 : the year 9 ‘B’ team won 8-0. The ‘B’ teams do not get many Saturday morning fixtures so it was great to see them play and to win so convincingly.
