A Level Presentation 2016

A-Levels Leavers Breakfast 2016

It was a pleasure to welcome last year’s Year 13 students back to school on Wednesday evening, for their A level certificate presentation. This year group achieve a superb set of results in their A levels in the summer, with 100% pass rate and 90% of all exams taken graded A*-B. Staff were delighted to see so many students and hear of their adventures since leaving the school. We wish them all well in their future endeavours and hope they will keep in touch with the school.

A Huge Thank You from the Drama Department

This year the PTA have funded the purchase of a new set of lights and a harlequin floor cloth for the drama studio. The extra lights mean that a more sophisticated range of lighting effects can be achieved in the studio and this is enhanced by the harlequin floor which enables the classroom to become a ‘black-box studio’, in which the lights are intensified. So far this has had a huge impact on the students, particularly at KS4 and KS5 as the new equipment has worked to enhance their practical examination performances. At KS3, the girls are now able to experiment with a wider range of lighting states and colours to enrich their work in lessons. A huge thank you to the PTA for their continued support of the Drama department. Below are some images of the GCSE and A-Level work that has been performed this term.

A level Certificate Presentation Evening

A-l-certificateOn Wednesday 6th January, we were delighted to welcome back our 2015 Year 13 leavers, for their A level certificate presentation.

a-level-2015It was a hugely enjoyable afternoon; we were delighted to see so many former students return to share in a celebration of their superb achievements and update us on their adventures since leaving school. Staff at AGGS are incredibly proud of them all, not only of their academic success, but also of the wonderful young women they have become.

As they embark on the next stage of their lives, we wish them health, happiness and success and hope that they will stay in touch with the school in the future.
