Ellie (and her partner) won a silver medal at the National Schools Regatta over half term.
The National Schools Regatta is the biggest junior event in the UK, usually dominated by all the big boarding schools and London public schools. It is about 15 years since anyone from Ellie’s club has won a medal at the National Schools Regatta.
Imogen (Year 10) was chosen to represent the North West at the National Junior Rowing Inter Regional Event in Nottingham on the 25th April 2015.
The event has representation from 12 regions in the country and each region make up a full team of the best athletes from their region from ages of 14 to 16 years both boys and girls.
Imogen competed in WJ15 coxed four and came 4th in the A final contributing 9 points. They competed in very difficult and windy conditions and hope this inspires them to continue competing at this high level.
Imogen only started rowing in September. She is now a very dedicated member of Northwich RC and trains at least four times a week. She and her fellow coxed-four crew members will be participating in the National Schools’ Regatta at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham this Saturday.
Good luck, Imogen!
