Year 10 Computer Science Trip to the University of Liverpool

On Monday 8th February, 27 Year 10 computing students went on a trip to Liverpool University.

They had a session on programming an Angry Birds game, then there was a session on encryption and decoding and finishing with programming Lego Robots using Python programming language.

The girls have thoroughly enjoyed the day, especially being able to apply their Python knowledge on the Lego robots, as you can see from the following video:

The day was a great success, and the university representative said:

‘The girls were very engaged and really got stuck in with the activities.  The final session of the day was on programming Lego robots and the leaders of that session told me that this group got further than any other school group we have had in for this activity.’
