Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th saw the year 8 & 9 drama pupils perform their Christmas production of Lewis Carroll’s weird and wonderful Alice in Wonderland. Forty five girls took part and were on the stage the whole time, as they took turns becoming the set (the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party table and the rabbit hole tunnel) and a variety of hilarious characters such as the caterpillar, Father William and the turtles. There were excellent performances from everyone but special mention must go to Alice (Sophia Thomson- her wonderful singing voice and so perfectly cast for this role) the mad bad Queen of Hearts (Mahjabin Mamun), the Mad Hatter and March Hare (Rosie Robinson and Freya Sharpe- what wonderful facial expressions!)
Many thanks to Mrs Corner and Miss Dodd for all their hard work in producing this lovely end of term performance-the girls’ enthusiasm, the bright costumes and wonderful direction coupled with an excellent ensemble cast, meant this was a real success. Many thanks also to Chris Capon for his technical help, Val Brennan, Catherine Marshall, Julia Mayall and all the other associate and teaching staff who have helped with organisation and costumes.
