Our very first BET Arts Day was a great success! The day took place at z-arts and allowed students from all of our BFET schools to come together to participate in workshops in the Arts. Our Year 10 dance and drama students took part in workshops in art, dance, drama, music and physical theatre which culminated in a showing of the work created. 5 of our Year 10 students devised and led the AGGS workshop, teaching students physical theatre skills. They were a real credit to the school and led with confidence, demonstrating outstanding leadership skills. Well done!
What a brilliant day for everyone involved. What a great way to celebrate and promote the arts in our schools, be creative and explore the arts.

Congratulations to all the dancers who performed in SPRUNG. All GCSE students showed their stunning practical work; including performance duets, choreographies and set phrases. The evening was an opportunity for friends and family to see the hard work that had gone into their GCSE practical studies. Well done dancers! A special thank you to non-GCSE students who gave up their time to rehearse and perform in GCSE choreographies.
On Monday, Year 9 and Year 10 dancers participated in a dance workshop with Lyndsey Thomas from the Centre for Advanced Training at the Lowry.
Dancers took part in a 3 hour contemporary dance technique class and creative session. Everyone participated enthusiastically and we all enjoyed the session…although we are all a little sore today!
Some dancers are interested in attending the open days and contemporary dance classes at the Lowry. For more information on these, and the CAT scheme at the Lowry, please visit
Emancipation of Expressionism by Boy Blue Entertainment is on BBC2 this Saturday at 10pm. It is one of the works studied in the GCSE Dance anthology. Don’t miss this brilliant street dance!
