UKYP Election Results – MYP Alice S

Some very exciting news from the world of UKYP – Alice has been elected Trafford MYP for the next year. Congratulations to her and Sanah and Hania for their hard work and involvement in the process.

The results were:

Therefore Alice has been voted in as this year’s MYP. Here is a short acceptance speech:

A huge thank you to all those who voted in this year’s MYP elections. The winner of the MYP election is: Rory.

Rory MYP

With only 69 votes in it, Yr 10 Alice Sutcliffe came in a very close second. Hannah of Year 11 3rd and Safa in Yr 9 here at AGGS coming in fourth.

A HUGE well done to the three girls from AGGS who ran and a big congratulations to Rory from the Citizenship department.

Well done to the outgoing MYP Lauren Barclay in Year 13 for all her hard work this year.

UKYP elections are here

UKYP logoThe UKYP elections are back and we have four AGGS students running for office. Elections will be held in the dining hall on Weds 16th March for all year groups to participate and choose the next Trafford MYP ( Member of Youth Parliament).

UKYP candidate selection

Last week six AGGS students put themselves forward to stand for election in the Trafford UKYP election process. The process was conducted at Trafford Town hall with the Mayor and local councillors listening to the speeches and then choosing their top four candidates to stand for election.

These candidates will battle it out for your votes and elections will take place in school over the next few weeks. Three out of the four candidates chosen were AGGS students which is fantastic. All candidates who stood should be congratulated for their efforts and the great speeches that were made.

The three chosen candidates from our school are:

Hannah Sharp

Alice Sutcliffe

Safa Al-Azami

It was also the time for outgoing MYP Lauren Barclay to make her closing speech. Well done Lauren for a very successful year as MYP.
