Last Thursday the school was visited by Diversity Role Models a fantastic organisation that teaches young people about the dangers of homophobic bullying. It explores issues relating to sexuality and girls have the opportunity to hear inspirational role models from the LGBT community.
Students from year 8 spent the day as form groups taking part in the workshops in the hall. They had the chance to ask questions and explore how they can make a difference and treat people equally and with respect and understanding whatever their gender or sexuality.
Thank you so much to Diversity Role Models, particularly Rachel for sharing her story. Students said they were so inspired by her story.
AGGS LGBT society meets on Monday lunchtimes in Rm 13. All are welcome 🙂
( Picture from last year’s sessions but allows you to see who Rachel is and what an inspiration she was to the girls).
