So far this academic year we have managed to raise over £5000 for charity and before the end of the year we hope to raise even more. This term the charity we will be supporting is Teenage Cancer Trust. Teenage Cancer Trust is a cancer care and support charity in the UK that exists to improve the cancer experience of young people aged 13–24.
Events taking place this term include:
Valentine’s Day Cake Sale on Thursday, 8th February
Christmas Jumper Day is this Friday, 1st December! Please bring in £1 if you would like to take part. All money raised will be donated to Cardiac Arrest in the Young (CRY) in memory of Chloe Waddell who sadly died of a cardiac arrest. We hope you will be willing to support!
This half term the charity we will be supporting is Children in Need.
Children in Need are currently supporting 2,400 projects across the UK. The projects they fund help children facing a range of disadvantages; e.g. poverty and deprivation; children who have been the victims of abuse or neglect or disabled young people.
To raise money in school:
A cake sale will be held on Friday 17th November in the main hall
There is going to be a raffle, with prizes including knitted Pudsey bears and a Pudsey bag- tickets are only £1
We will be selling Pudsey badges around school for £1
We would love for you to get involved so keep your eye open for these fundraising opportunities, which will be taking place imminently.
On Thursday 28th September we had our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning cake sale. In total we managed to raise £338.04! The money raised will help to benefit the lives of cancer patients across the UK. Macmillan are a well-known charity who provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support to cancer patients, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. We would like to thank everyone who came along to show their support and appreciate the efforts of students who either made or bought cakes to bring to the sale!
On Monday, 10th July we held a cake sale in school to raise money for Mind. There was a great turn out- the sale was very popular and we managed to raise £75! Thank you to everyone who generously donated any cakes and came along to support the sale!
Following the recent terror incident at Manchester Arena, we decided to raise money in school for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund. To do this, we held charity collection buckets at the end of the year group assemblies to collect any loose change from pupils. This proved to be very successful as we managed to raise an astounding £500 in total! The money raised will be used to provide for those affected by the devastating incident in Manchester and their families at this difficult time. We would like to thank everyone for their donations!
