4 pupils from years 8 and 9 represented AGGS yesterday at the UKMT team challenge. The pupils achieved 5th out of 27 teams! The pupils involved were Evie, Rachel, Nishi (Year 8 ) and Rose (Year 9).
Four AGGS girls took part on Thursday, 23rd April, in the UKMT Team Challenge.
They were competing against 29 other schools for the chance to represent the Northwest at the national finals in London.
The competition was fierce and after 5 hours of intense mathematical challenges the girls finished a very respectable fourth.
The girls really enjoyed themselves and were thrilled to also meet Harry (or maybe it was Henry), a student from Wigan who is on Britain’s Got Talent (some sort of TV show I think).
They were a genuine credit to the school and many teachers from other schools came up to us at the end to commend the girls on their commitment and excellent attitude during the day.
