Good luck to the U13 Indoor cricket team who are playing in the Regional Round of the competition at Old Trafford on the first day back after Easter.
Congratulations to the Hannah, Diana, Phoebe and Jade who swam at the Aquatics Centre in the county round of the School Games competition. In their heats the girls came 1st and 2nd in their races but unfortunately the 2nd heats had faster times. We finished 4th overall – 3 points adrift from 2nd place. However, the girls won the Cannon Relay at the end of the races.
Congratulations girls for this great success.
In our final matches of the season :-
The year 7 finally got their win against Sale Grammar School.
The ‘A’ team won 5-0 and the ‘B’ team won 1-0 (with 3 of our players playing on the Sale team!!!!)
The ‘A’ team also beat Manchester High School 4-2 and the ‘B’ team won 2-1
Well done to everyone who played.
The year 8 and 9 teams also played Withington Girls’ School.
The Year 8’s won 4-1 and the year 9’s won 6-1
Again, well done everyone.
Now it is time to have a good rest and come back fully refreshed in September!!!!
The Year 8 team won the Trafford Schools netball tournament.
Lucy, Charlotte, Niamh, Hannah, Laura, Maddie, Freya, Issy and Hollie were unbeaten in all of their games!
This follows the Year 7 success the week before. The Year 9 tournament was cancelled due to poor weather and this has been re-arranged for next Tuesday so we are hoping to win that one too!
Hayley competed in the Under 19 girls category of the English Junior squash championships, held at Edgbaston Priory last weekend, and came a very commendable 9th overall in a tournament which is only open to the top 16 seeded players in the country.
Competitive squash has largely had to be pushed to one side this year for Hayley, as she has committed to her academic studies, so to come out and play against the country’s best, and perform as well as she did, was all the more impressive!
Hayley continues to promote the game and encourage other girls to get on court and enjoy it with a regular Tuesday coaching session, which she lays on after school each week at Bowdon Club. Do come along if you want to have a go!
We would like to thank all players for making this season one of the most successful for a very long time. It has also been a very enjoyable one with a lot of laughs along the way. We would also like to thank the parents for their tireless support on the sides of the pitch, in all weathers, on a Saturday morning and also for transporting the girls to fixtures and tournaments near and far.
We really do appreciate it – thank you. Mrs Finch and Mrs O’Neal
There will be a large summer time table on the hockey board so girls can see when their new lessons are and have the correct equipment and clothing for the first day back at school

Saturday 16th May v Cheadle Hulme School (Away) Years 7-10
Saturday 13th June v Cheadle Hulme School (Home) Years 7-9
Saturday 20th June v Stockport Grammar School (Away) Years 7-10
Saturday 27th June: King’s School Chester – U14 Invitation Tournament: 2 pairs of U14 players (Year 8 and 9)
Saturday 4th July v King’s School, Chester (Away) Years 7-10
Generally for each match there will be 3 couples in each age group. However, we sometimes play with 3 players in a couple to give more girls a chance to play team tennis and also it makes it a lot easier if a player cannot play in the match through illness etc.
We have also entered 3 teams in the U15 and U13 Lawn Tennis Association School team tennis competition. These matches will largely be played after school but some may be played during school time.
Congratulations to the junior cross country runners who finished 3rd (A team) and 6th (B team) in the competition. The first four runners to finish were Lizzy T (7th), Laura H (10th), Hannah W (15th) and Emma S (17th). Well done also to Emily S, Millie P, Mary W and Katy L.
In the older age groups we only had individual runners but congratulations go to Francesca B who finished 3rd in her race and Alice B who finished in 2nd place in her race.
Well done to all the girls who competed.

The annual Sports Dinner will be held on Wednesday 1st April, 2015 at Bowdon Rugby Club, Timperley from 7-10pm.
The PE department look forward to seeing many of you on the night.
