On Thursday 14th June, 27 Year 10 pupils travelled with Mrs Ryan and Mrs Stokes to the University of Manchester to explore careers in languages. The day began with a talk about the possible career paths pen to language students before moving on to a creative subtitling task, where pupils wrote subtitles for short films. They then enjoyed a tour of the campus and a taster session in either Japanese or Arabic. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed their day.

In recent years, we have successfully hosted Japanese home stay students. We are looking forward to hosting another student from Nagoya International High School next term to help her improve her English, learn about our culture and experience English lifestyle.
We need a family who could host one of the girls for two weeks in March 2016. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know about Japanese culture and meet a young student from a fascinating part of the world.
The Japanese student will be high achieving, responsible and independent. A very generous weekly living allowance will be paid to the host families.
As part of the AGGS safeguarding policy, please be aware that the host family will have to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
