Mrs Taylors Year 9 Work…

More fantastic responses to the sweets and treats project…

Food Tech this Half Term

The year 10 students went on a trip to the Food Sorcery in Didsbury

This half term has been a busy one in food. We have said goodbye to our year 11 students and wish them lots of luck in their exams.

The year 10 students went on a trip to the Food Sorcery in DidsburyThe year 10 students went on a trip to the Food Sorcery in Didsbury to develop and improve their practical skills. They made delicious Cornish pasties and profiteroles. We had a fantastic time and picked up lots of new tricks to ensure success when making choux pastry.

Years 7, 8 and 9 continue to work hard to develop their own skills and have produced some lovely dishes this term including home made pizzas, chilli con carne and chicken goujons.

Have a lovely break. We are looking forward to the launch of the AGGS Bake Off 2018 competition after the break.

Artist of the Week…

Beautiful and thoughtful responses this week to the exam projects…

Artist pages (Critical Studies)…

No matter what year group you are in or which artist you are researching students often neglect the fact YOUR interpretation of their work is the most important element of the page. I would much rather see a detailed drawing which demonstrates understanding of the artist rather then lots and lots of writing. Some lovely examples of successful artist pages have been handed in this week across year 8 and 9.

Year 9 Exam Project: Food

I have had some lovely outcomes from the year 9s this week for their exam project. Lots of fresh and vibrant collages that would look great put into repeat patterns on homewares and fashion….

What are you like?…

I really enjoy the year 8 exam project because I get to find out a little bit more about my students and their hobbies. The project becomes so personal and individual and thats one of the reasons Art is so great….we can tailor projects to the individual and they can make their work so personal and unique.

Outstanding Year 8 Research Pages…

Some wonderful Andrea Joseph research pages being handed in this week….simply stunning. The detail on these biro trainers is outstanding. Well done.

Parissa A and Nawaira S in year 8.

Year 7 Artwork of the Week…

Love this little watercolour wax resist by Rishika. Great colour choices and delicate application of marks. Well done!

Yellena James Project

I am just marking the year 7s Yellena James project. Amattoullah’s is beautiful. So much skill and mature compositions, well done!

Sweets, treats and food…

The year 9 exam project is well under way and I am really pleased with the outcomes being produced. Creative, fun and skilled drawings are being developed…well done Year 9!
