Tilly and her team competed in the National Figure Skating competition in Coventry at the weekend and were crowned national champions!
They competed against 10 other teams and won with a perfect score,90/90! This ends her very successful season in which she has become a British Synchronized Ice Skating Champion and also gained three International silvers at the Winter Cup, Belgium Trophy D’Ecosse, Scotland and the Budapest Cup,Hungary.
An amazing year for a very talented skater, we are very proud of all your achievements Tilly, well done!
Gabriella is a Synchronised ice skater and has done amazingly well in competition this season. In addition to her on ice training she has been training on inline skates – Inline skating is a comparatively new and fast growing sport, in essence it involves wheels instead of the blades you would find on ice skates and it allows the skater to perform all the spins jumps and fancy footwork you would expect to see on the ice.
She is a member of the UK Silverblades inline team and along with the 12 other skaters in the team she has been in Dijon over the weekend at the 7th World Inline Skating Championships representing GB, and won the Bronze medal in the Junior ladies Division 4 category.

Tilly O, Year 10, has just returned from competing in the Novice category at the Budapest Cup, Hungary. Her team, ‘Whizz Kids’ skated against teams from Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic and came away with the Silver medal. The competition was also attended by the current Senior World Champions, Paradise of Russia who took the time to come and chat to Tilly and the rest of her team. It was a fantastic experience.
Last weekend Hannah from year 11 took part in the Long-track Speed Skating Youth Country match in Sundsvall Sweden, representing Great Britain against Sweden, Finland and Norway. After 2 days of quite intensive pre-match training in The Hague she travelled with the rest of the team to the venue, an 400m outdoor ice track in Sundsvall. Being able to take part in this competition was a great opportunity for the team as the sport is still developing in this country.
Hannah put in a super performance, knocking 5 secs off of her personal best time in the 500m and acheiving good competitive times in 1000, 1500, 3000 m races She was also part of the girls relay team which took 4th place.
Amelia and Oliver skated brilliantly at the Andorra International for GB. They came 1st in the Free Dance and 2nd in the Pattern Dance competition giving them an overall silver place. They also gained their personal best in overall points which will give them either 1st or 2nd ranking in GB at their level.
Well done to the both of them!
Gabriella is involved in 2 different disciplines: Ice Dance and Synchronised Ice Skating.
In Ice Dance she has passed 9 National Level tests in the last 12 months. She has 7 medals from club competitions as a solo skater in 2015. She is a Member of the Altrincham and Widnes Ice dance team who are competing in the Northern league of the RIDL. She has skated with two different partners at junior and senior level dances. They are currently top of the league and hope to be in the National finals in September. She was awarded the Bronze award in the Lambco national poll in December in the category of best ice dancer to watch.
Gabriella also excels as a synchronised ice skater. She has been training with WWSSC. They have several teams in their squad, including the current GB team.
She has competed with the junior team, Destiny. They won a silver medal in France last November at the International Masters Tournament, and also won silver at the British National Championships (January 15). She also skated with their younger team in the mixed age category and with them won a Bronze medal at the British National championships in January and a bronze medal at the Trophy DEcosse ISU International in February.
In total therefore to date she has won four medals at the British Nationals in four different categories and is a five times International medallist.
Amelia (Year 9) has an Ice Dance skating partner, Oliver (AGSB Year 9). Recently they achieved 2nd place overall at a competition at Lee Valley. Even better, last week they took individual and overall gold in the Bracknell IJS Qualifier. This has resulted in their current GB ranking at Basic Novice level improving to 3rd in the UK. See below the press release from Silver Blades Widnes following the Lee Valley competition. Their Bracknell performance has resulted in them being invited to join the Great Britain Development Squad. This is basically the group of skaters who receive additional input and training from NISA (National Ice Skating association) so they can progress and represent GB at international level.
The British Nationals competition in Sheffield takes place this November and on current levels of progress we are very hopeful!
This season Gabriella has trained with Wales and West Synchronised Ice Skating club, travelling to Cardiff each weekend to train with her teams and also with Team Spirit (Senior) who are currently the GB team.
Competitively this season she has skated at Mixed age and also at the higher level of Junior. This team (Creation) won Bronze medals at both the British National Championships (January 15) and the Trophy DEcosse ISU international (February 15). The Junior team (Destiny) had a fantastic year and won silver medals at both the International Masters Tournament (Dunkirk) in November 14 and the British National Championships in January 15.
In December 2014, Gabriella was also delighted to win Bronze for the best female solo ice dance skater to watch, in the Lambco poll as voted for by the skating community.
