Emancipation of Expressionism by Boy Blue Entertainment is on BBC2 this Saturday at 10pm. It is one of the works studied in the GCSE Dance anthology. Don’t miss this brilliant street dance!
Extra rehearsals to prepare for the Dance Production:
Meet in the Gym and bring your full costumes with you.
Dancers, don’t forget to return your reply slips before Friday. You can post them in the post-box outside the PE office, or leave them at reception.
There are spare letters outside the PE
Office in Fairlie.
Anyone wishing to create a solo or group dance for the Dance Production must attend the audition on
Thursday 23rd November after school.
For the audition we would like to see:
All dancers must relate to the theme of the animal kingdom. We will be looking for creative responses to this stimulus.
The sign up sheet for timeslots will be up on the Dance noticeboard in the gym from Thursday 16th November at 12:30pm.
Have any of you spotted Grace (8-3) in the CBBC show Taking the Next Step?!
Grace successfully auditioned to appear on the show, which is a competition to win a guest role in the show The Next Step. From 2,250 auditions, Grace was selected to be one of 150 young dancers invited to Regional auditions. The Regionals were filmed in Manchester in May, with Judges Kimberley Wyatt (Pussycat Dolls) Jonny Labey (Eastenders) and Swoosh from Dance Group Flawless. Grace competed for a place at Nationals in London. You can catch up on Grace’s Regional audition (episode 4) on BBC iPlayer on the following link:

Watch until the end of the episode as there is a twist to Grace’s audition!
The next episode, The Nationals, is on CCBC on Monday at 5.30 and 7.30pm. Make sure you tune in. We can’t wait to watch and see how Grace does!
This morning, dancers have learnt the set phrase ‘shift’ and created performance pieces using the poem ‘I am meth’ as a stimulus.
We are so impressed with how hard all of them have worked this weekend; they have put 100% into every workshop. We now have lots of ideas and rep ready to use in GCSE dance lessons back at school.
