We are coming close to the end of half term and many Christmas festivities have begun!
AGGS’ Christmas Concert this year was a success; showcasing a range of talented students (over 260 in total). Performances included: Howard Blake’s ‘The Snowman’, sung by the Junior Choir and ‘Feeling Good’ performed by the String Orchestra. The halls were packed this year and the exciting atmosphere of Christmas was captured during the concert. Well done to all students who participated in this year’s amazing concert and to the staff who made the night memorable and festive!
Also, this year’s Christmas Enterprise Markets were held at lunchtimes and the main hall was buzzing with staff and students purchasing Christmas gifts and goodies. The stalls were run by Year 7, 8 and 9 students and their creativeness was on display at the market. Congratulations to the students who gave it their all and sold their socks off!
This Friday, AGGS will be hosting another amazing talent show and the Year 13s will be showcasing their pantomime which they have been working extremely hard on. Charity day will also feature stalls in the dining room so come along and visit the many activities, games and food on offer!
We hope you have a fabulous Christmas/ holidays! Everyone deserves a break to relax 🙂
Ah December, the month of festivities and family. 2017 is coming to a close (finally, what a great year) and as T.S. Eliot once said:
“for last year’s words belong to last year’s language, and next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.”
So, that brings us to the theme of this issue – Reflections and New Beginnings. We thought it would be fitting considering this is the debut of our magazine, The Green Light.
This issue features works submitted by various members of our school, so stay tuned!
