Well done to the Year 10 rounders team who played some great rounders in the Trafford tournament. They were unbeaten in the group stages with the following results:
Stretford GS won 11 and a half – 2
Urmston B won 6 – 1 and a half
BTH won 9 – 3
St Antony’s won 7 and a half – 6
They went through to play Ashton in the semi-final and won 4 and a half to 2 rounders but struggled a little in the final against Urmston A. They batted first scoring 5 rounders but couldn’t quite manage to field the deep balls that Urmston hit. Nevertheless it was a great evening of rounders and the girls thoroughly enjoyed it!
Congratulations to the U15 cricket team for winning their first ever T20 match against Fallibroome in the Schools Sports Magazine National competition. The match was played after the final exam on the Friday which was a great end to a week of exams. We scored 88 runs in our 20 overs, with Laurie Sheriden (year 7) the top scorer with 35 runs. We now play Urmston Grammar School in the next round after half term.

Tears were shed this morning as we said goodbye to our Year 13 students, who now begin their study leave for their A level exams. We had a lovely morning of celebrations with a leavers’ breakfast and a wonderful assembly, which included some superb performances from our very talented girls, as well as a very entertaining contribution from the tutor team! We would like to wish our students the very best of luck for their forthcoming exams, and health and happiness for the future. We will miss you!

On Wednesday 26th May, 60 Year 5 pupils from Bowdon Church Primary School came to AGGS to take part in a design and technology morning. The pupils were able to experience design and technology in a secondary school in all three areas; Food, Product Design and Textiles. Everyone had a very exciting morning completing three different end results to take home with them including a pizza toast, a felt photo frame and a laser cut personalised ruler. Each result was designed and manufactured by the Year 5 pupils with help from the design and technology teachers at AGGS!
