New Medical School Announced at Edgehill University

New Medical School Announced 

Following an announcement by the Secretary of State for Health, after a highly competitive process to allocate 1,500 additional places to train doctors in England, Edge Hill will establish a Medical School at the University. From 2019 we will offer an Access to Medicine course and we willl offer a degree in Medicine from 2020. The new Medical School is one of only three new free-standing medical schools in the country and the only one in the North West. To find out more information, follow this link.

In addition to this the University has recently secured a top 20 place out of 116 Universities in the Times Higher Student Experience Survey 2018. Our accommodation was rated as the 4th best in the country and our campus as a whole was ranked as the 7th safest. We are now accepting applications from students for our veterinary medicine courses, starting in September 2018. The deadline for applications and work experience form submissions is 15th October 2017 at 6:00pm.

Making an application

1.  Students can discover which veterinary medicine course is right for them.

2.  Applications must be submitted online via UCAS. Students may list a total of five courses on the UCAS application form, but only four can be for veterinary medicine and science programmes (D100, D101 and D102).

3.  Students must complete a ‘work experience questionnaire’ and return this to us.

Students can monitor the status of application through UCAS Track. They can also continue exploring student life at RVC by visiting our Virtual RVC page, where they can find more student interviews and tours of our campuses.

Manchester University Open Days

Our work aims to support and add value to yours in providing information, advice and guidance in schools and colleges across the UK.  I would like to remind you of the opportunity for your students to join The University of Manchester Aspiring Students’ Society (UMASS). UMASS is a fantastic initiative which provides students in Year 12 and 13 with a unique insight into university life.  Students joining UMASS enjoy a range of privileges including online support via our website, podcasts, blogs and a monthly e-newsletter.  In addition, students living within traveling distance of Manchester have the opportunity to attend workshops on our campus covering topics such as writing personal statements, preparing for university interviews, taster lectures, revision sessions and one-to-one guidance sessions. New Degree Apprenticeship with PwC

New degree apprenticeship with PwC launched
The University of Leeds has partnered with PwC – one of the UK’s largest graduate employers – to create a new fully-funded technology degree apprenticeship.  Starting in September 2018 BSc Computer Science (Digital & Technology Solutions) will initially accept 40 students onto the four year course which combines undergraduate study with practical work-based projects at PwC in Leeds.

The University and the professional services firm have worked closely to develop a syllabus which prepares students with the right skills for the future, in an area which is becoming increasingly in demand.  Find out more.
