As well as dealing with bullying we also want students to be happy and with the exam period fast approaching, here are some revision tips we have gathered over the years!
- Know if you are a visual or auditory learner- whether you like to draw pictures or listen to lectures
- Plan out when you will revise- make a timetable and pin it up
- Don’t be scared to ask a teacher if you are unsure on a topic
- Don’t be afraid to ask an ambassador if you are feeling stressed or worried
- When revising, use colours to make studying more fun! :p
- Set up study dates with friends that motivate you to study
- Treat yourself ever so often- maybe watching TV or going out with friends
- Drink lots of water and eat healthy
- Rest and take breaks
Don’t be stressed! A bad grade isn’t the end of the world and there is always room for improvement.
Finally the time has come! CHRISTMAS! We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And for those who don’t celebrate Christmas, we hope you enjoy the holidays! Let’s wish for snow this year….. 🙂
From all the Anti Bullying Ambassadors, have a lovely time away from school! 🙂
From the 16th to the 20th of November, Anti-Bullying Ambassadors are encouraging people to make a noise about bullying! We want people to feel confident about raising their voice if they are being bullied or someone they know who is. This week is all about raising awareness of the impact of bullying. All this week we will be presenting assemblies to show year groups of the importance of preventing bullying.
The Sharp System
We encourage pupils to use the sharp system. A link is provided at the top of the school website. Here is a direct link: http://altrincham.thesharpsystem.com/
It is a CONFIDENTIAL way to stop YOU or a FRIEND or SOMEONE you have seen SUFFERING. Please leave your name or email address so the teacher that receives the report can take action.
Drop into our TV lounge in Room 2 on Wednesday at lunch. Speak to one of our Anti Bullying Ambassadors personally if you have anything you would like to discuss. Bring along your lunch and have fun!
‘The purpose of World Kindness Day is to look beyond ourselves- beyond the boundaries of our country, beyond our culture, our race, our religion and realize we are citizens of the world and that KINDNESS is the common thread that unites us all.’
This year Anti Bullying Ambassadors will be raising awareness of World Kindness Day on the 13th on November and will be carrying out small acts of kindness during lunchtimes and break times. There will be form activities during this week which form tutors can get involved in as well. Our aim is to make everyone feel happy and safe at school and celebrating these important days can help us achieve this. We hope our random acts of kindness bring a bit of joy to your day! 🙂 So, JOIN IN WITH US ON THE 13TH OF NOVEMBER!
P.S. Look out for quotes around school 😉
This year, Year 10 and 11 anti bullying ambassadors are aiming to achieve a friendly and welcoming school environment to all pupils. The ambassadors have been trained to ensure pupils feel safe within our school. This year, the year 10 ambassadors have been mentoring Year 7 form groups to help them form friendships at an early stage in their school life in the hope that they keep them throughout the rest of their years. Year 11 ambassadors have also created a film club to help students bond with others.
This year we want to be known throughout the whole school and make sure pupils feel comfortable talking to us about their issues.
Hira, Year 10 – Anti Bullying Ambassador
We hope you all had a great holiday and are refreshed for the year ahead!
The anti bullying team here at AGGS have already had our first meeting of the year and are so excited already at the ideas we have discussed.
