Our year 7 hockey team had been invited to enter the Arnold, King Edward and Queen Mary School invitation hockey tournament this weekend in Lytham.

In their section of 4 teams they beat Baines School, Lytham 4-0 in their first match. Their second match was against Rossall School, Lancashire 0-0 and their third match was then against Mary Erskine School from Edinburgh. After full time the score was 1-1. There was then a golden goal 5 minutes extra time when the first team to score a goal won the match. Within a couple of minutes we have scored so won the match 2-1.

In the semi-finals we played AKS – the host team. In a very close game we lost 1-0.

In the 3rd/4th play off we played The City of London School. Again this was a very close match which we lost 1-0 so we were 4th overall. The girls had a really good time and played some excellent hockey – we just need to practice shooting under pressure!!!!

Thank you to all the parents for transporting the girls and supporting us throughout the day. It was very much appreciated. Below are some photographs to remind us of out time in Lytham.

Thank you to everyone for a very enjoyable day.
